TRNN - Exiled Again: The Stories of Mexico's Returned Migrants

In 2019, Trump's Remain Mexico policy stranded over 70,000 asylum seekers in all the cities, exposing them to violence, exploitation, and dire conditions.

And though the policy was officially repealed, similar tactics have re-emerged with Trump's return to power. Under U.S. pressure, Mexican authorities intercept migrants, pushing themselves into a relentless cycle of displacement and danger. 

In one of Tabasco's few shelters for returned migrants in the south of Mexico, the stories reveal a system that traps them in exhaustion and despair.
